The location of onboard weighing system displays has long posed a problem to drivers. If the monitors are in the cab, it is difficult for drivers to watch loading at the same time, which helps to make sense of the data. If screens are mounted on the outside of the truck, there is a high risk of accidents occurring if timber slips during loading and an operator is in close proximity.
That is why VPG Onboard Weighing has developed VPG Connect - a remote monitoring solution that links our 1155 weighing systems to a mobile device via WiFi. With a live data feed being sent to their smartphone or tablet, drivers can stand a safe distance away during loading and unloading without missing a thing. In addition, VPG Connect serves also as a telematics solution, sending live data to fleet managers for coordinated monitoring of vehicle location, job times, load weights and any safety or compliance red flags.
BulkWeigh is a dedicated onboard weighing solution for bulk haulage. Offering high accuracy of ±1% GVW or better for vehicles with a GVW of between 17 and 50 tonnes, BulkWeigh systems are designed to be simple to operate with clear, intuitive monitoring so operators are always in control during loading and unloading. All BulkWeigh products come with AxelWatch weight distribution and TipWatch safety monitoring as standard.
TruckWeigh is a groundbreaking overload protection and load optimisation product built around our own patented inclinometer technology. The unique flexible design means it can be fitted to any type of suspension on vehicles with a GVW of 7.5 tonnes to more than 50 tonnes. It also provides individual measurements for any number of axles, with consistent accuracy better than ± 2.5% (90-100% GVW).
VPG Connect is a solution for the modern environment. Compatible with our BulkWeigh and TruckWeigh 1155 systems, VPG Connect sends real-time weighing data to mobile devices via WiFi, allowing operators to monitor loading and unloading at a safe distance from the vehicle and also ensuring they never miss an alert. In addition, VPG Connect serves as a telematics solution, relaying data back to base to support fleet management, safety and compliance control and so on.
