Heavy Goods Vehicle Payload Control
The high-quality 5th Wheel & Air system combines precise air pressure sensors on the trailer with additional sensors mounted to the 5th wheel. The air pressure sensors measures the load in the trailer’s air suspension system. For even higher system accuracy, two of VPG Onboard Weighing’s high accuracy load cells are mounted under compatible fifth wheels on the tractor. Typically installed within one working day, the system achieves an accuracy to ±1.5% GVW or better, providing net payload and gross vehicle weight measurements to boost efficiency as well as overload alarms for safety purposes.
