TIPPERS

Tippers are used extensively across industries like construction, agriculture, quarrying and mining. They are typically deployed for bulk haulage and/or clearance of heavyweight granular materials such as gravel, sand, wood chip, grain and so on. Although the tipping motion of the hinged loading bed makes for swift and efficient unloading, the fact that tippers often have to operate on uneven, wet and muddy ground poses serious challenges.

Tipper operators and fleet managers trust in VPG Onboard Weighing solutions with highly accurate, easy to follow, robust weight monitoring on every load, during loading, transport and unloading. In addition, our award-winning TipWatch tool helps to keep tippers level and balanced in all conditions during unloading, meaning there never has to be a trade off between safety and optimum payload.

Operating Tippers Safe and Efficient

VPG Onboard Weighing is Europe’s market leader for bulk haulage overload protection and payload optimisation systems, providing rugged, reliable solutions that guarantee performance in the toughest conditions over time. Based on our unique and groundbreaking inclinometer technology, our overload protection systems are lightweight, easy to install and require minimum maintenance. They also perform with maximum accuracy on the most uneven ground, ensuring your tipper is always in compliance with the law and operating safely regardless of conditions.

We also offer load cell based weighing systems that deliver even higher levels of accuracy across any GVW, measured by axle. All of our solutions feature clearly audible and visual alarms in case of a load limit breach as standard, as well as modern telematics support.

TipWatch - Optimised for Safety

Uneven ground, rain, mud and heavy bulk loads all combine to pose serious safety challenges when operating tippers. An unexpected shift in the surface, or a momentary lapse in concentration from the operator, can easily see vehicles slip or tip over during unloading, with potentially catastrophic consequences.

In response to this, we now fit all of our BulkWeigh systems for tippers with TipWatch as standard. It works by monitoring ground level and axle weight distribution during tipping. If it detects something is out of balance and there is a risk of the whole vehicle tipping over, it issues clear audio and visual alarms. There is also the option to customise the system so the tipper stops automatically when a TipWatch alarm is triggered.

VPG Connect

Tipper operators often feel hampered by having weighing system displays mounted in the cab. It means they don’t get a good view of what is happening during unloading, having to rely on the data alone. And if something goes wrong, it puts them at risk.

Listening to these concerns, we developed VPG Connect, which provides a data link between our 1155 onboard weighing systems and any mobile device. This gives operators the flexibility to monitor weighing feeds and alarms out of the cab where they are safer and can get the best view. At the same time, VPG Connect serves as a telematics solution, sending in-depth information about vehicle location, time, weight measurements and safety alerts to fleet managers in real time.

VanWeigh units are worth their weight in gold!

Nick HatchettStores Supervisor, Booth Dispensers Ltd, UK

I have just ordered our fourth VanWeigh system in two years for our growing fleet of VW Crafters. VPG Onboard Weighing fitters are polite, courteous and well trained in their knowledge of the units being fitted. Vehicles are left clean, tidy and ready for work.

The VanWeigh units themselves are worth their weight in gold. There is no fiddling about to add up weight, just load the vehicles and the unit does the rest. Drivers can see straight away if they need to alter their load to spread the weight.
